An introduction to competition economics

Luke Wainscoat gave two lectures on an introduction to competition economics to students at the Sydney University Law School as part of its undergraduate course on competition law. The topics Luke discussed were:

  • the demand and supply model;
  • perfect competition vs. monopoly;
  • economic welfare and market power;
  • barriers to entry;
  • game theory;
  • price and quantity setting competition; and
  • collusion and predatory pricing.
